This is a shout to capoeiristas in Alaska! I'm trying to get a group or page or SOMETHING that we could use to connect up with. Since Alaska only has ONE group, which is in Fairbanks (though I recently heard that their mestre moved to New York, so I don't know how the group is doing), and only a couple of places where capoeira is taught in Anchorage (UAA and Inner Dance Yoga Studio), we don't really have a way to connect. If you are on Facebook, I started a page (Alaska Capoeira http://www.facebook.com/pages/Alaska-Capoeira/16466... ) to try and promote connections and games. There is also a group called AK Capoeira that was started by one of the teachers in Anchorage.
The effort to get us connected has gotten a bit more actual success, as the teachers from UAA and Inner Dance have been attending each other's classes and working together a bit in teaching. We are hoping to do some outside games this summer and would like to be able to spread the word out!
If you have any other ideas on how to get Alaskan capoeiristas connected, I'm all ears!
