Gettin' the Word Out

A small local paper wrote an article about capoeira in Alaska. Yay! Hopefully this will really help spread the word. Well, that and the fact that we are hoping to do some rodas in the parkstrip, which is basically downtown. Let people see and start asking questions. :) Article here if you are at all…See More

On the Road Again- Italy

Hey all.I'm heading off to Italy this July. I'll be traveling quite a bit around the country, and would like to join a roda or class or two if I get the chance. Anyone able and willing to point me in the right direction? And general travel thoughts are more than welcome as well. :DSee More

Italy!!

I'm all set, the tickets have been purchased. I'm going to Italy in July! Now, all I need to do is figure out where the capoeira groups/games are, find places to stay, and have an overall stellar time. Anyone have any recommendations on places to see, inexpensive places to stay (I generally do couchsurfing or hosteling), people I need to meet? Next step... buying a quad band, unlocked mobile... *sigh*See More

Exciting news!

Still have capoeira classes at the university, which I am part of. Fun, fun. But great, stellar news! There is another capoeira class being held in a yoga studio two to three times weekly. The teacher of that class and my teacher have met and are now working together. Quite frequently the teacher of the new capoeira class joins my class at the U.

We have been talking and trying to determine the best ways to spread the word of capoeira, to…

Adding in the Muay Thai

Posted on August 27, 2010 at 11:00am 3 Comments

So, this summer I found a place that teaches muay thai in my area this summer. I've been taking it these last couple of months while capoeira classes are on summer break (one of the downsides to having capoeira classes taught through the university). It has been great, though occasionally really entertaining. Trying to do evasions, and instead of ducking muay thai style, I go back capoeira style. Gotta watch the kicks as well.. keep wanting to put back both hands instead of keeping one up to… Continue

Success!

I'm officially in a capoeira class! It's through the university. It's only once a week, but it is so much better than nothing. I guess and official group has been started in a town about 9 hours away. Hopefully that means the biggest city in Alaska will soon have an actual mestre and an actual group or two in it. High hopes!

Haha it won't be changed, there are not enough guys. Atleast not in this school. Yeah the cattiness allready started and about the daddy thing, it happens since so many young girls who don't got enough daddy love will look for it in theyr life but I am good at avoiding and ignoring...

I just got myself three new books also. I think I am going to get all of Paulo Coelho's books in the next months. Have read 3 books of him and am surprised! He is real good, just for non catholics he has some passages who may be too "catholic", I myself just change them by myself while reading.

So how warm is it again in summer in Alaska?

Haha! I am not much into biographies either, I mean... would anyone read mine if I write one? The tought is funny tho *grins*. Well right now I am alot into Paulo Coelho's books and one of the books who impressed me most in the last 6 months was The Last Lecture from Randy Pausch - Funny this one could be misunderstood as biography...

What else... school... I feel like in a high school girls lockerroom... we are only 2 males and 22 females and the they are young... atleast 10 years younger then me so you can imagine, well try atleast, I mean for a girl maybe it's fun...

I want to practice asap, need something to distract from the days in the lockersroom heh.

Well I better get to work for a start, take care and hmm... you live in a library! That's good, just reminds me of Inkheart hehe so don't let anything out the books...
