As per usual, my capoeira has been painfully sporadic. Once again I will attempt to get into the class being held at the Uni (if only I can find it.. for some reason neither the teacher nor the class is showing up in the class catalog.. figures). There is once again hope in my heart.

My exciting news is that Anchorage had a visiting Mestre! I was able to experience a roda, with a mestre, live music and song, and experienced capoeiristas (as in more than my teacher) for the first time. It was a wonderful thing. It turns out that Alaska DOES have an official capoeira group. It's pretty new, but it is there. Unfortunately, it's all the way in Fairbanks. Good thing is that a bunch of the people from the group came to visit with their mestre, so I was able to make some connections. It is a wonderful thing. Capoeira is finally growing in the Frozen North!
